Planning connected to your ERP system and other data sources
Power BI can connect to almost any system, API and database to retrieve data. Aimplan fully leverages this strength. This amazing connectivity makes it possible to combine data from many different data sources in the same planning model. In the cloud or on-prem. Databases, APIs or data lakes. Almost everything is possible!
Reuse your existing Power BI data-models and business logic
If you are running Power BI - why again integrate the same data you already have in Power BI into an old CPM reporting and budgeting software? You double the time and effort on data integration. And you will need to maintain and keep multiple ETL-processes alive for many years to come.
Instead, use Aimplan with Power BI to create a modern FP&A solution based on your existing datasets. All without touching or affecting the design of your existing Power BI data models. Reuse your Power BI dimensions, fact table actuals, your calculated Power BI DAX measures, and other business logic you added to your models.
Microsoft Dynamics F&SCM and AX 2012
You can connect to Microsoft Dynamics Financial and Supply Chain Management (F&SCM) using different technologies.
Preferably, moving forward, use the new Data Lake Gen2 to get connected to core F&SCM tables. Here you can get up-to-date data to Power BI/Aimplan for reporting and planning. Also, leverage the standard 'Common Data Model' to easily get access to the data you need.
If this is not a viable option for you, you can use other well established integration technologies. Publish entity data via the F&SCM ODATA API or use a BYOD-database to load data into Power BI and Aimplan.
Running Dynamics AX 2012 on-prem? No problem! With Power BI and a data gateway, you will have access to your AX data direct in Aimplan planning models.
If you need to get data back from your planning models to F&SCM or AX 2012 - that is also possible!
Microsoft Dynamics BC and NAV
If you want to improve and extend your reporting and planning capabilities on Dynamics Business Central data, or NAV - just connect with Power BI and Aimplan. You can easily connect and get data from Business Central to Power BI using the BC standard financial APIs, or by exposing BC API pages or using OData services.
Business Central, NAV and Power BI are all products from Microsoft. Take advantage of the great connectivity between these systems. You can even embed Power BI and Aimplan into the Business Central web interface.
Connect your Data Warehouse
Do you want to connect Aimplan to your data warehouse? I.e. allowing end-users of Power BI the opportunity to enter data within Power BI that is immediately stored in your warehouse? Or maybe not direct to your warehouse but to staging databases close by. Then Aimplan can be a solution.
A couple of alternatives:
1. Update your warehouse by loading data from your Aimplan Azure SQL database (default alternative). For example, configure SSIS or another ETL tool to extract data from your Aimplan Azure SQL to your warehouse.
2. Aimplan Saas service can connect to your Azure SQL or Managed Instance or other hosting environment and store data in your SQL Server.

Security and data access
Aimplan implements single sign-on with M365/Office365 and Azure AD to grant user access. Combine the data access rules maintained in Aimplan with the data access functionallity in Power BI. I.e. manage in Aimplan for example which user can access and plan which project, product, market or cost center.
Embed in MS Teams and Sharepoint
Power BI, and therefore also Aimplan can easily be integrated into Sharepoint and Microsoft Teams. This provides a great user experience combining reporting and planning direct from within these collaboration tools.
Full access to your data
You always have access to your data stored by Aimplan. We never lock your data in. You have full access and can easily get access to the data from different tools and other systems in a secure way.
